Putting the twinkle in Chanel’s elegant Christmas display
Lightmoves supplied and pre-programmed the lighting for this unique Christmas display at the flagship Chanel store in Melbourne’s CBD.
Lightmoves provided a plug-and-play system with custom pre-programmed LED to illuminate the 2022 installation.
The brief for Chanel flagship stores globally was to depict a pearl necklace being draped across each building, accentuated with a Chanel bow.
The LED lighting scheme was fitted and pre-programmed to ensure brand consistency and elegance, in line with detailed plans and installation coordinated by Chanel and The Hype Agency.
Inside the bow, Lightmoves fitted 30 metres of LED modules across 4 circuits, pre-programmed with a custom twinkling sequence timed to match the other Chanel installations around the world. The perimeter of the bow was backlit by 20 metres of IP65 LED flex, creating a gorgeous glow effect against the building’s façade.
To illuminate the ‘pearls’, Lightmoves provided and fitted 300m of custom 2700K warm white IP65 LED strip, which was installed into 63 perforated beads each with their own power supply. The Chanel logos were each fitted with 10m of 3000K IP65 LED flex and a power supply.
The LED was wired and programmed by Lightmoves’ workshop and service department. A power distribution system was built so that the bow could be pre-wired, transported in two sections and installed onsite with ease.
All LEDs provided had an optimum outdoor rating (IP65) to ensure high performance amongst the elements.
The radiant display distinguished Chanel’s luxurious building even amongst Melbourne’s various Christmas festivities.
