RMIT Design Hub

The RMIT Design Hub located on the corner of Swanston and Victoria Street in CBD Melbourne, was officially opened in November 2012. In an effort to foster collaboration of disciplines, this $80 million cross disciplinary hub is home to 250 academics and postgraduate researches in architecture, industrial design, landscape architecture, urban design, fashion design, aeronautical engineering, creative media and game design – among other fields.

The landmark circular features of the building are called a Smart Skin.  The building’s Smart Skin is a world first of its design and its functionality which the architect, Sean Godsell simply states, “they help to power the building, help to shade the building and help to control the internal environment”.

Lightmoves supplied and installed this building with full DALI lighting control with Mapview User Software.
